The Doctoral Programme in Computer Science by the University of Murcia is an adaptation of a previous programme from 2011 with the same name to the latest regulations on Doctoral Studies in Spain. The programme obtained a Mention towards Excellence for the academic years 2011-12 to 2013-14. The 2013-14 academic year was the last in which the recognition of the scientific-technical and educational competence of doctoral programmes at Spanish universities was granted.

This PhD Programme, like the one before it, principally aims to provide students with a better knowledge of research techniques. In this sense, the design of the new Doctoral Programme gives students a wide-reaching flexibility and autonomy, while enabling them to attain high levels of quality, internationalisation, innovation, recognition and mobility.

The PhD Programme enjoys collaboration agreements with foreign universities such as the Mohammed V-Souissi University of Rabat and the University of Sonora in Mexico. In addition, it is a very international programme since the faculty maintains numerous research collaborations through joint research articles, projects and co-direction of theses, among others, with researchers from prestigious universities and research centres, including the following:

  • Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden)
  • University of Antwerp (Belgium)
  • Department of Mathematics and Computer Science
  • Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, The Netherlands
  • Astronomical Observatory, Tokyo, Japan
  • University of Manchester (United Kingdom)
  • Medical University Graz (Austria)
  • Institut de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse (France)
  • Mayo Clinic (United States)
  • Carleton University (Canada)
  • University College London (United Kingdom)
