Jazmín Hidalgo González

My name is Jazmín Hidalgo González and I am a clinical and biomedical laboratory technician. I was born in Ecuador and at the age of 14 I emigrated to Spain looking for a better future. My adventure in this wonderful group began when I decided to study my high degree, but I never imagined that I would end up in the research area following my greatest desire of developing myself within the clinical area. However, my advisor found an opportunity to do my internship with Marta Garaulet. I remember the day of the interview. I was nervous because her presence was impressive, but when we relaxed everything works.

During my internship I realized that my desire to learn was stronger and my enthusiasm to put into practice everything I learned. So I dedicated 100% of myself to do everything perfectly. When I finished my internship I was happy because I had the opportunity to learn new techniques and put my knowledge into practice. However, my efforts were rewarded because Marta gave me the opportunity to continue working with her team. After that, I also started to work in one of her nutritional clinics and nowadays, I continue working there.

I can say that joining this group has been a great opportunity to discover all that I am able to do. I feel happy to share my time with my colleagues because I learn more everyday.
