The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2024 call (HORIZON-MSCA-2024-PF-01-01), for the mobility of researchers, is part of the Excellent Science Pillar of the Horizon Europe Programme. 

The 2024 call was published on 23 April 2024, with a closing date scheduled for 11 September 2024 at 17 pm. 

The MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships are addressed to postdoctoral researchers in any field of research to develop their project in a host institution in a country other than their country of residence.

Postdoctoral researchers of any nationality with a maximum of 8 years of full-time equivalent research experience, counted from the date of obtaining the doctorate until the deadline for submission of the call (this period may be extended under certain circumstances), are eligible for the MSCA PF. They must comply with the mobility rule, i.e. the postdoc researcher must not have resided or carried out his/her main activity in the host country for more than 12 months in the three years preceding the closing date of the call

Los dos principales tipos de participación y sus características son:

  • European Fellowships:
     
    • Applicant (Experienced Researcher - ER) must move or have moved from any country to the Host Institution (HI), located in MS/AC (Member States EU or Associated Countries EU).
       
    • Applicant (ER) must comply with the mobility rule (see Guide for Applicants MSCA PF 2024).
       
    • It is recommended to carry out a Secondment in another EU institution, preferably in a non-academic sector institution.
       
    • Possibility to carry out a 6-month Placement in a non-academic institution.
       
    • Open to ER of any nationality.
       
    • Duration: 12-24 months.
       
  • Global Fellowships:
     
    • 12-24 months project outside the EU, +12 additional months mandatory return phase to EU/AC.
       
    • ER must be from MS/AC or must be a long-term resident.
       
    • HI must be from MS/AC, but will carry out the project in a Non-Associated Third Country (TC), with return to EU.
       
    • Mobility rule must be fulfilled in the TC.
        
    • Letter of Commitment from the TC entity is required.
       
    • MS/AC or long-term residents.
       
    • Duration 12-24 months in a TC + 12 months return in MS/AC.

Secondments” & “Placements

  • During the execution of the project it is recommended that the ER carries out at least one Secondment in another MS/AC institution:
    • MSCA-PF European: Up to 1/3 of the project duration.
    • MSCA-PF Global: Up to 1/3 of the exit phase or at the beginning of the project (max. 3 months).
       
  • At the end of the project, a Placement of 6 months in a non-academic sector institution can be included.
