Conference “Contemporary rationalist and expressivist approaches to self-knowledge”

2015

A workshop entitled “Transparency in belief and self-knowledge” took place at the University of Oviedo, on the 9th and 10th of November 2015.

The two themes on which the workshop was focused were the place of transparency in doxastic deliberation, and the link between transparency and self-knowledge.

The list of speakers included Jordi Fernández (Adelaide), David Finkelstein (Chicago), Sophie Keeling (Southampton), Naomi Kloosterboer (Amsterdam), Miriam McCormick (Richmond), Sarah Sawyer (Sussex), Lukas Schwengerer (Edinburgh), Ema Sullivan-Bissett (Birmingham), René van Woudenberg (Amsterdam), and José Zalabardo (UC London).

The workshop was funded by the Spanish Ministry for the Economy and Competitiveness, via research projects FFI2012-38908-C02-01 and FFI2012-38908-C02-02.

2014

A workshop entitled “Self-knowledge, expression and transparency” was held at the University of Murcia on the 17th and 18th of March, 2014.

The programme for the workshop included papers read by the following researchers: Stina Bäckström (Åbo Akademi University), Josep E. Corbí (University of Valencia), David Finkelstein (University of Chicago), Manuel García-Carpintero (University of Barcelona), Lena Ljucovic (University of Potsdam), Francisca Pérez Carreño (University of Murcia), José Luis Prades (University of Girona), Sarah Sawyer (University of Sussex), Jesús Vega (Autónoma University of Madrid) and José Zalabardo (University College London).

The workshop was co-funded by the Spanish Ministry for the Economy and Competitiveness (research project FFI2012-38908-C02-02), and by the Fundación Séneca – Murcia Regional Agency for Science and Technology,  as part of its programmes Support for Research (08694/PHCS/08) and Jiménez de la Espada (18877/OC/13).
