PROCEDIMIENTOS DE PREPARACIÓN PSICOLÓGICA A LA CIRUGÍA EN HOSPITALES INFANTILES: UN ESTUDIO DE ÁMBITO NACIONAL |

RESUMEN
Este trabajo presenta los resultados de una encuesta realizada a la población de hospitales infantiles y materno-infantiles españoles. El objetivo era conocer el porcentaje de hospitales que aplicaban algún procedimiento de preparación a la hospitalización quirúrgica infantil. Los resultados indican que el 17% de estos hospitales empleaban algún procedimiento de preparación, siendo la información oral, el manejo de material médico, el audiovisual, el recorrido por el hospital y el folleto informativo los que se utilizan. El principal motivo por el que el resto de hospitales no aplican ningún procedimiento formal de preparación fue el esfuerzo suplementario que supone para el personal sanitario.

PROCEDURES OF PSYCHOLOGICAL PREPARATION TO SURGERY IN PEDIATRIC HOSPITALS: A SPANISH INQUIRY |
SUMMARY
This research presents the results of an inquiry carried out on the population of pediatric and maternity-children’s hospitals in Spain. The objective was to know the rate of hospitals that were applying some procedure of psychological preparation to the pediatric surgical hospitalization. The results indicate that 17% of these hospitals employ some procedure of preparation, being oral information, management of medical material, audiovisual, hospital tour and informative pamphlet the procedures most used. The main reason for the remaining hospitals not applying any formal procedure of preparation is the added effort it implies for hospital staff.
