Amar Halifa-Marín

Amar is Geography graduate (2013-2017), MSc in Water Technology & Management (2017-2019) and PhD student in the doctorate program in Biodiversity and Environmental Management (starting on November 2018). He coursed his studies at the University of Murcia and spent one semester at the National University of Cordoba (UNC, Argentine) in 2017 supported by the ILA Program funded by Banco Santander. Amar has two years of experience in research works as undergraduate and postgraduate student, participating in the DISECO project, funded by the National Plan of Science and hosted by the Soil and Water Conservation research group of the CEBAS-CSIC. During this period, he studied the links between changes of the organic carbon sinks and geomorphological dynamics in mediterranean channels and drainage basins. Recently, he joined the GMAR group to fulfill his interest in regional climate analysis funded through the program of Scholarship of Initiation to research career funded by the University of Murcia. In 2019, he was awarded a FPU fellowship by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. His current work focuses on gaining insight on the relationship between teleconnection patterns in the Northern Hemisphere and precipitation characteristics over the Iberian Peninsula. He has published three first-author papers (JCR and SJR), one book chapter, a communication for a national conference and two communications in international conferences.
