Pedro Jiménez-Guerrero

Dr. Pedro Jiménez-Guerrero is Permanent Staff (Associate Professor-Profesor Titular) at the University of Murcia. His research experience on Regional Climate Modelling and Big Data Analysis was acquired during his training at the University of California, Irvine (UCI, USA), Max-Planck Institute (Mainz, Germany), the Goddard Institute of Space Studies of the NASA (USA), the Barcelona Supercomputing Center-Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (Spain), the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA, USA) and the Zurich Institute of Technology (ETH, Switzerland). The main contributions of Dr. Jiménez Guerrero to research can be summarized as follows: (1) More than 100 articles published in international journals included in the JCR related to regional air quality and regional climate modelling using supercomputing environments. h-index = 30 according to Web of Science; 5 publications with more than 100 citations. (2) More than 300 publications in proceedings of congresses and symposiums of recognized international level since 2003 (without taking into account national congresses); and member of the Organizing Committee / Conference Convener of the prestige of the EGU General Assembly or ITM, among many others. (3) More than € 500,000 obtained from competitive research calls. Experience in R & D management of both the State Research Plan and European calls (IP of 7 projects funded in these calls). The results of his research have received awards from institutions such as the University of Cambridge, the World Meteorological Organization, the 6th Framework Program for Research of the European Union or the World Program for Climate Research of the United Nations. In 2011 he received the Young Researchers award from the Royal Spanish Academy of Engineering “for his contributions to the study of the physics of the atmosphere and the climate using large supercomputing infrastructures”.
