Dr. Lorente-Plazas is Postdoctoral Researcher granted by the University of Murcia with almost 10 years of experience in atmospheric science focused on RCMs, comprising model validation, model parameterisation development, and data assimilation. After a Master in Meteorology and Geophysics, she obtained her Ph.D. in atmospheric science honored with Cum Laude in 2014. During this period, her main goals were: 1) to develop a web mapping tool to assess the wind resource, 2) create and assess an observational database of surface winds applying multivariate techniques, 3) validate modeled winds using regionalization techniques and, 4) improve the modeled wind speed of an RCM. From mid-2014 to mid-2016, she did a postdoc at National Center for Atmospheric Research (U.S.) working on weather forecast over complex terrain using data assimilation. During her postdoc at the University of Washington, she investigated the extreme precipitation over a flood risk region with clustering techniques over RCM data. She has collaborated in more than 10 works related to RCM and in other studies where classification techniques have been applied. Her most important contributions are reflected by 20 co-author publications in international scientific journals and more than 60 communications in international conferences with more than 300 citations and h-index 13 (according to scopus). She has also collaborated in several research projects funded by both public administration and private companies.
