Objectives and Methodology

Objetives of the Program

The general objectives of the Ph.D. Program of Food Tecnology, Nutrition and Food Science are:

  • To establish the main aspect of the scientific research in the field of Food Technology, Human Nutrition and Food Science and.
  • To give a new knowledge in the field of Food Technology, Human Nutrition and Food Science with special attention to the application of new ingredients and new methodologies in the food industry, with the aim to obtain a high quality in the raw materials and food products.
  • To provide a true and actual information about the food safety and quality management in the food industries, providing information related to the new hazards, and their risk and severity for human health.
  • To give a new vision of the food law, specially with the food safety
  • To improve the research activities in Food Technology, Human Nutrition and Food Science in Murcia, providing scientific with a great experience to work in the public and private research centres and in the Department of I+D+i in the food industry.

Methodology of the Courses

The methodology used during the first year will be theoretical and practical lessons. The theoretical lessons will be dynamic with the participation of the students, and all teachers will provide written information to the alumns. The practical lessons will be carried out in the different laboratories of the Department. The students must present for each course a final work, previously proposed by the professors.
