Mission:

The Catedra Bioferma was founded on March 2001 as a joint collaboration between the University of Murcia and Bioferma Murcia S.A.. The catedra bioferma is financially supported by Bioferma Murcia S.A., a biotech company located in Alhama de Murcia and which is producing antibiotics.

The Catedra Bioferma was founded to also promote the public knowledge and awareness on current topics in the fields of life sciences and biotechnology. To achieve this goal, the Catedra Bioferma provides the faculties of the University of Murcia with opportunities to invite scientists for a visit to exchange scientific ideas and to present topics related to life sciences and biotechnology to the interest public.

The Catedra Bioferma also supports short exchange visits between the University of Murcia and the worldwide scientific community.
